AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the top level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in winning the league title. Morgan was only 22 at the time and the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists during the same calendar year . making her the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
